Afghanistan - detailed pt. 1

Timeframe: Our foreign interest in Afghanistan is an agenda requiring increased attention following increased media attention and resulting public opinion. Its timeframe is directly tied to its social stability and is projected to be a long term agenda.

Taking: Our foreign interest in Iraq requires multiple forms of tasking. It requires covert operations (CO), and propaganda, in addition to collection, analysis, and reporting.

Standard of performance: Afghanistan requires an analysis on their economic and social stability including the US’s role in repairing the nation. Furthermore, analysis should review the Afghan government’s impact in curbing the illicit drug industry. Data should be collected to assist in measuring the region’s contribution to the drug market with the assistance of direct observation: CO. To assist in the social stability, propaganda should spread the promotion of democracy. Despite Afghanistan’s high profile and importance, collateral damage should not infringe on our military infrastructure. Blowback should also be minimized because of public opinion’s curt tolerance toward our involvement.
