Immigration - detailed

Timeframe: Immigration is a growing concern with an ongoing timeframe.

Taking: Assuring our border security incorporates multiple tasking. This includes counterintelligence (CI), propaganda, collection, analysis, and reporting.

Standard of performance: CI should be used to maintain a secure border from infiltration. Additionally, propaganda should stress advantages of legal border crossing; thus, encouraging legal immigration. Analysis should also be used to evaluate the social, economic, and political implications of hosting illegal aliens, including the cost of minimizing illegal aliens. To fight immigration, collateral damage must be accepted when necessary, and blowback, though minimized, accepted.

Oversight: The Senate should review reports of social, economic, and political cost. Additional review should be given to the usage of propaganda.

Jurisdiction: Jurisdiction for illegal immigration falls to the DHS for analyzing the social, economic, and political implications, DIA for analyzing national security, FBI for conducting CI, Department of Treasury for analyzing the economic implications, and Department of State for disseminating propaganda.

Priority: This is listed as my sixth priority because of the national security, counterterrorism, and, potentially, economic implications associated with infiltrated borders. It is consider a elevated priority because of long term effects.
